Job Title: IT and Telecommunication Network Security Engineer

Job Context:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT and Telecommunication Network Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network, application, and IT security architectures for our IT and telecommunication systems. This role requires a deep understanding of security principles, protocols, and best practices to protect our organization from cyber threats and ensure the integrity and availability of our network, applications, and IT infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage secure network, application, and IT security architectures for IT and telecommunication systems.
  • Perform risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify security weaknesses in network, application, and IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard network, application, and IT assets.
  • Monitor network, application, and IT infrastructure traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents promptly.
  • Implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, endpoint security solutions, web application firewalls (WAF), and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Collaborate with IT, development, and telecommunication teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into system, application, and IT infrastructure designs and deployments.
  • Conduct regular security audits, penetration tests, and code reviews to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to proactively address potential risks.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff on network, application, and IT security practices.
  • Document security incidents, procedures, and configurations accurately.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network, application, and IT security engineering, preferably within the IT and telecommunications sector.
  • Experience with cloud security in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication systems and protocols (e.g., VoIP, LTE, 5G).
  • Experience with SIEM tools and IT security management platforms.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Additional Requirement:

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint security solutions, web application security, and IT security architecture.
  • Experience with security tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Nessus, Metasploit, Snort, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Fortify, Splunk, ArcSight, and QRadar.
  • Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, and CIS Controls.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CCNA Security, OSCP, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Big Telco or Bank experience in Bangladesh would be ideal
